Running cables through heater channels?
As my heater channels are no longer connected to heat, i was thinking of running the cables for my audio install through them.
Just wondering if anyones done this before?
Ideally i would like to run something like hosepipe as a conduit from the front of the car (at the top of the A panels under the bonnet) and have it
exiting through the rear heater port under the back seat near the battery.
Not sure how much room there is at the bottom of the A panel bit though...as it's obviously got to do a 90 degree there. Is there enough room?
If this is a definate no-go then does anyone have any other ideas for running cables from front to rear without doing the normal under the carpet job?

Hi Neil,
I ran some cables thru the centre section of the chassis.
the cable went in near where the fuel goes into the tunnel.. it comes out under a rear seat....
the cable was 7 core trailor cable..

Going through the heater channel is fine. Just put the hose down first and then cable through that. The channel is not hollow as such but the old
heating pipe will allow you to avoid the obstacles.

Can't seem to get past the 90 degreee at the bottom of the A pillar.
Back to zee drawing board....

can ya pre kink an angle into the hose a bit and then by shovin in it will direct itself?? with the walls of the heater channel?

Neil,
Try something more flexible first, like an accelerator/clutch cable
first and then use this as a drawstring for your hose.
