Headlights...
So as a few people know, i recently purchased a type 3 square of another forum member, im currently in the process of piecing it back together and
getting it back to a roadworthy state.
I have run into a problem though with the headlights, given that i didnt remove them i have no clue what wires go where...
here are some pics of what im facing...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are wiring diagrams over at http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiringt3.php
These may be of help. If you need it I can take a look at mine tonight and take a picture. The cars stripped for a rebuild but I should be able to
find something that will help

The white wire is hi beam
the yellow wire is low beam
the grey wire is parker
the brown wire is earth
the black n green is blinker
the brown goes to the headlight globe next to the white n yellow and then to the parker and finally onto the blinker junction

vw54 has already answered, Mine are all disconnected as I am in the middle of rust repairs, but a quick mock up agreed with the above post.

Thanks for your help guys, me and a mate are tackling the problem at the moment. We have headlights, we are unsure if we have indicators at this
stage, have to check the globes, but we have come accross another problem.... High Beam... Is the high beam in this car turned on using the indicator
stalk, is it push forward or pull backward? Pulling backward does nothing when the lights are on or off, we get no change at all... in My last type 3,
i had to pull the indicator stalk back fairly firmly to get it to click and turn high beam on, was this different on earlier models?

Is a headlamp dip switch on the floor???
some VW models [not usually in Australia]
had the dip switch located right at the end of the blinker lever.
cheers

Hi Lee. A few Type 3 Notches (maybe Squares as well) had the dimmer switch on the firewall. I only ever saw about two of these OZ built ones from
the 1964 model. Maybe VW OZ weren't given enough of the indicator dimmer switches when they started production here!
All other Type 3s had the dimmer on the end of the indicator arm. First off the small button up to around 1968 and then the whole arm moved for the
dimmer. Early imported ones had the headlight flasher incorporated in the relay as did the 1500S and the early imported Fastback which used the same
steering column.
Just some more useless information for someone to read!!

we have Headlights/parkers working, but no indicators, so just trying to find out if its a blown globe at the moment, im currently meant to be looking
for a screw driver to remove the lens, but im posting here instead!
