suspension Q's
i have been looking at photos of my car while doing autokhanas,and i can see that the rear end lifts quite alot under hard braking into corners and is
placing alot of weight over the front outside tyre. to me this seems like it would have a negative effect on handling.. my car feels ok, but im
trying to make it better then it is without having to spend unesecary cash on stuff that i dont need.
im thinking a rear bar will help body roll but not rear end lift ??
its a swinger rear with koni adj reds all round with stock torsion bars. im going to have a play with welding on a aditional leaf sring onto the
camber compensator and get rid of the bit that mounts to the gearbox and instead make brackets that are welded onto the bottom of the frame horns then
fix the compensator to that so there is no pivot point like the normal compensators. then brace each end around the axles.this might stop rear end
lift and also body roll...its a cheap trial and error... what do u think...

Gday chris first ccheck that your rear brakes are working second lower the rear suspension should help in the weight transfer to the front also cheap
to do labour only cheers Rudi

Mounting the compensating spring on a pivot attached to the chassis is fine, but stay with the pivot - the lower, the better. A high percentage of
weight on the comp. spring - less on the torsion bars - will 'sort of' lower the rear roll centre, bringing it closer to the front roll centre
(ground level).
If you are really serious about improving the 'handling', contact me and I will be glad to hand on some 'tricks' that may save you some time and
expense.
