Not a country buggy but...
Since owning my Country Buggy (which is now half way through a body off resto) i've been smitten with rare VW off roaders. The CB is rarer here than
it is in Aus as there are only about 5 in the U.K. (someone said closer to 10 but i've not seen any proof).
In the last month i've bought 2 more vehicles which might interest the CB fans more so than the 'normal' VW crowd.
I drove to the other side of England today and came back in this...
A gurgel X12. My first ever non VW!!!
(although it is built from mostly VW parts)
Love it, it's so much fun to drive.
It was cold driving it back over 300 miles with no roof though... Had to stop halfway and buy gloves at the motorway services. It was only 2 degrees
and was really windy.
And it is super rare. It's the only factory built RHD in the world!!!
It was featured in Volksworld June 1990 (not sure if you get the mag in Aus?)
And last month i bought this...
A VW Iltis, ex German army and one of the most capable 4x4s there is. Again rare as you like as there are only 12 in the U.K.
I can't wait for the winter to be over now so i can play!

Chris.
You do like the oddball and rare. An Iltis I know and I can understand but the other beast. When I opened the photo I thought it was a plastic toy
until I looked closer. Have never seen or heard of these before.
Now where are you going to fit those in your front yard.?
Hope the CB is moving along. Did Nathan ( Bugboy) sort you out for those bits and pieces you were looking for.
Regards,
countrybuggybill

Wow
that's the BEST fibreglass buggy I've ever seen...
and the Iltis was made to do a job [at any cost] in Armed Forces
so was VERY expensive to make...
After production finished, the Iltis presses etc were sold to Grenadier in Canada...
who made them again for a number of years...
Two extremely rare VWs.. well One VW and a VW based Buggy..
any info on the Buggy??? where was it made??
