Wheel stud required longer

I need to get a set of longer wheel studs for a 1975 kombi. I know the thread is 14 x 1.5mm. I see that a company called Nice Products has 14 x 1.5 long 73mm studs. They come with two different knurled section diameters. 15.7mm and 16.25mm.

Does anyone know what the knurl diameter is for a late Bay bus original stud?

Have you fitted longer studs and what knurl diameter did you use?

Will the holes have to be drilled out? Obviously if the original and after market sizes are different

i used 65 long studs and had to cut them down about 6-8 mm,just went and measured the knurl on my spare hubs and it was 14.9mm ,i used a set of these on the back http://www.vwparts.net/MB70-2810.html  and these which the knurl was about the same size on the front http://www.vwparts.net/CB7530.html  but if i was buying again i would get the 57mm ones

Thanks for that. I have hit a lot of dead ends so far.
