Floor pans
Well as i only have literally half a floor pan i have been attempting to look into getting a new one without much success. I have heard the Gerson
from Klassic fab in the states made a re production floor pan i sent him an email a while ago and never got a reply. Does anybody know how to go about
getting one to Australia if possible?

he is the only person i know that you can type 3 pans from, that and T3D but its like double the cost of genson's pans and a little bit lower
quality.
I need one as well. Doesn't it piss you off that all the important emails never get answered. I sent one to CB a week and a half ago asking a simple
question.
..... No answer, and clasicveedub 3 months ago.... No answer, Vintageveedub 3 months ago..... No answer.

I got mine from Gerry Heldt in Perth http://www.karmannghia.com.au/ but that
was a long time ago and I don't know if he still does them.
or you can try
http://www.karmannghia.com/products.asp?strMasterCat=584&strYear=&str...
or http://www.veteranendienst-fried.de/ (German language only)
or http://www.karmannghia.de/liste.php?session_id=b7fdfdb3f5ff9e825389d8985e3914...
or http://www.mamotorworks.com/acvw-4-72-5086.html
or http://www.status-vw.co.uk/shop/index.html
or http://www2.cip1.com/searchresults.asp?cat=574
and you can also find them on Samba by doing a search in the ghia section http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/cat.php?id=39
That should keep you busy for a while.

I should have read your post a little better. Only noticed it was in the ghia section and didn't realise it was for a type 3 but some of these sites
may still be useful.

the ghia pan do fit with modification. But a lot of people would rather not go that path.
Especially...
A: when t3 pans are available.
B: look weird for those who only need one pan replaced.

I enquired with the Gerson distributor here in Australia a while back....I can't remember the guys name, but here's the web address...
http://www.splitparts.com.au/sb_clients/splitparts/bin/home.cfm
They order direct from Gerson fairly regularly. I can't remember what he quoted for the pans landed in Oz, but I still have it on my work email. I
will check it when I get back to work on Tuesday and let you know if you like.

The Samba site quotes $775USD....thats the best part of $900 at the moment.....
you might be able to pick up a donor vehicle for that much with good pans.....then you get all the other bits and pieces too....just a thought.
I am pretty sure the guys at Splitparts quoted less than that I reckon.....I'll keep you up to date when I check my work emails.

thanks. Finding a donor car is proving difficult considering all of whats for sale out there are earlier models than what I require.

He would do just one pan as well? I only need the right pan.
The left one still pretty much factory condition, but the right one has had water all over it and now its paper thin.
As well as a perfect carpet ruined

Sorry guys....just went right through my work emails to find my original quote from Elton and can't seem to find it at all.....but the price that
ZachJW said sounds about right.
By the looks of the photos I've seen, and reports from those that have already fitted these pans in the States, it would seem that they are worth the
money.

Are you sure you cant get them out of CIP?
They seemed reasonable when I looked into it a while back for the KG.
A$500- comes to mind landed in Aus (for both sides).
