The doors look like they are ready to open in the first pic ... internal air pressure??
I don't doubt the body was that light as it seems pretty minimal.
Good power to weight.

That's pretty crazy. It's really not a Beetle though, more like some kind of monsterised Formula Vee with a floppy fibreglass Beetle shell over the top! I'm amazed that they used two aircooled VW motors, you would have thought that if they're allowed that degree of modification they would have just put in a V8 of some kind or a 911 engine with a turbo.
