Howdy, just seen this fastback on ebay and was wondering if anyone knows who owns it?

ha, ha. Ask a silly question, get a silly answer!

I thought the car looked alright, but wanted to see if anyone on here knew anything about it.

I know it has had the "Rear chassis was rewelded in the area of the engine mounts. According to the VW workshop that did the repair (and the VW workshop used more recently for routine service work), this is a common, if not inevitable issue with Type 3's, and once properly addressed should not recur. Floor rewelded in rear passenger footwells due to some rust in that area."

It's very common for the bracket that the engine mount bolts to, to break away and need welding up. Both the cars with that system I've owned have needed to be welded. If I got one that has not been welded I'd be keeping an eye on it.
