Fuel Injection Conversion on a 1302, Pump location??

The next phase on my conversion is to install the fuel system. The system I'm running uses this pump
http://www.summitracing.com/search/Product-Line/MSD-High-Pressure-Electric-Fu...
I'm running the stock line as the return into a Y type fitting between the tank and the pump. No lift pumps, surge pots etc. Simple setup.

I'm away from the car for a couple of months due to work so I'm just doing some brainstorming, but a super doesnt have space under the tank like a beam front end. Would there be enough space to squeeze the pump under the tank or is the spare wheel well a better option? (although unlike the subaru converted cars I do have a spare wheel in there)
Any ideas or pictures would be appreciated!!

*need to fit a large bosch filter in as well, pre pump I think but need to check.

With Strut bugs there's plenty of room on the passenger side of the bulkhead/firewall for mounting a fuel pump which places it below the bottom of the tank as your not running a surge tank.
that's actually where factory EFI bugs have them mounted as well

I was gonna mount mine there too, was just a convenience thing putting it in the wheel well

With EFI setups the main filter is always after the pump but it doesnt hurt to have a rock catcher before the pump as well just to stop is sucking in large chunks of shit from the tank which may jam it up

You may find running the return into the main fuel supply line instead of back into the tank that you get fuel heating issues
Even mine with a 1L surge tank was getting cavitation dramas after 1 hour or so driving due to the heat from the fuel rails

The idea behind running it like I am is that you dont have evaporative issues from dumping it in the top of the tank. There will be a little accumulator type thing (factory vw part I saw over on shoptalkforums) that should make the whole thing work. We'll see when its running. I might even put a return bung in the bottom of the tank instead of the Y peice but definatly no return in the top.

Ill have to look up the bosch part number for the filter I have, If its a low pressure unit I'll definatly run something after the pump as well.

Hopefully there's some setups at warwick I can have a gander at.
