I has a sad.

:( Some of you might know I have sourced nos sheet metal for my notch. well the businesses I was buying them from went out of their way to get me late type 3 inner fenders and apron etc...

I got the pic of the stuff today before it I pay the rest and they send them.:fakesniff::grind:

They are early ones:!: lol how can not one but 2!!! business get it that wrong. They recon its late but I was  they are short nose.

So now I pretty much have to start the search all over again and this time I don't think i will get them at the bargain price these were.

You might have to adopt a 2nd hand half cut wreck, a busted one with a good front, (and just the shell alone) could be like only $200. Although handling is a mish...

They are around the place in peoples back yards, just gotta put up a wtb post and let em know :tu:

yes I already bought a body. waste of 400 buks that was for those particular parts. Though I managed to make most of it back by selling other cuts of it.
You just can't tell until you remove the re enforcement in the inner guards.

its not all bad news. the apron is the correct type and I found a left nos inner guard in the Philippines.

its so nos its got no rust at all :tu:

now I just need one right side and I am mostly done. Lucky I got people power as the guy I bought most of the stuff off is going over in dec to the states to fill another container. He said he would be on a look out for nos
inner guards for me and also be picking up my other sill that is still over there.

I have to remind him to get some of those kustom fab floor pans as well

No, but I did hit a Magpie that day  Did mean it though. I was like what are you doing???........... You idiot! why did you turn around and fly back into the car??

Actually there is more bad news I suspected that the other lens should of be damaged too as they were packed real close together. Turns out there is a fresh big but unnoticeable crack in that one too.:fakesniff:

Oh well I found another NOS set from a different samba member and I will be making sure this one gets packed real good and get insurance too. See the set I bought was free postage, So packing was not insured and was packed ok, but not great.

Bit of bad luck from all departments.

1. Could of been packed way better,
2. Could of been insured,
3. Should of taken it with the bulb holders, but nooo! i said I didn't want them. They were damaged from the inside.
4. The handling was terrible as the box was in bad shape when I got it.

On the plus side they are still 95% awesome, So I can sell them for a bit still. Just they are not perfect anymore

I want perfect or some aging is fine as it adds character. The fact that it has been damaged pisses me off to the point that I wont use them.
