VW Nationals drag racing vid 14th April 2004
This was the year that the VW nationals drags left Oran Park raceway and was held at WSID . Full quarter mile drag racing for the first time.

sports sedan to turbo oval movie
in 2006 at age 14, Dean created another movie for me showing WPVWs' transition from the injected n/a sports sedan to the turbo oval .
You will probably get sick of the same music but Dean was very much into Queen back then and he really admired my achievements . He was there at every
single race meeting with me , to help and support me . I get a great thrill in doing the same for him now.....

WPVW 1st drag bug burnout at Eastern Creek October 1996
racing at Eastern Creek Raceway in 1996 against another V8 ford . In this video Trent my apprentice applies the front brake tap and proceeds to do a
crowd pleasing burnout , starting off in 2nd gear , shifting to 3rd and then shifting again to 4th . He lines up against the V8 ford and runs our very
first 12 sec pass with a 12.8 @ 101mph on 165 kumho street tyres (stock axles)

racing at the VW spectacular 2008 , I have a little oops and put the WPVW sports sedan into the tyre wall on the main straight . The damage was
repaired within 2 hours and the sports sedan was raced again the next morning

Over the past 2 nights I have been through heaps of old footage and unfortunately a lot of it I cant save , but what I can save I am currently making
small vids and listing them on youtube and placing all the links here for everyone to enjoy .
I currently have on disc 44 small vids from 1988 VW drags at Canberra , 2002 Valla racing , 1996 eastern creek drags , 1997 oran park drags , 1991

Goulburn speedway 1991
In 1991 I decided to try speedway racing with a VW full chassis super-sedan . It was powered by a mid-mounted 2.4litre (88x92) type-1 methanol
injected supercharged engine .
To be honest , this car had much more potential than I could get from it ..... mortgage , not long married , baby on the way , and opened new business
.... just a plain lack of funds was available for the race car .

Rod Penrose at Huntley Hillclimb 1989
in 1989 , brother Rod decided to purchase a formula vee for racing . He removed the 1200 engine and fitted a 2276cc twin webber engine that I had
built for him .
He took it to Huntley hillclimb and was very fast on slicks , until one day the vee ended up-side-down with him in it after a rear suspension mounting
broke . Fortunatley Rod was not injured , but the same could not be said for the vee.....

THIS WOULD HAVE TO BE MY MOST FAVOURITE VW MOTORSPORT VIDEO , racing at Newcastle motordrome for the TOOHEYS 100LAP ENDURO in 1992 .
before the main 100 lap race we had to go through 5 qualifying heats ....this is one of those heats .

I have had a great time over the years despite a few individuals that have really tried to make things very hard for me (no need for names , they know
who they are) , but it has always been my incredible passion for my VW's that has got me through it .
I have got some great footage of stan at Valla in the injected open-wheeler and will try to put it up tomorrow . Not too sure about craig though , he
has never really done anything that impresses me .... LOL . only kidding craig !!I have only been through a small portion of my videos and will look
for more on craig .
I also have a lot of footage of the Jo Smiths 76 green bug and the original Hellbug that Jeff Unwin drove but it is buggered . I will put up a couple
of samples and will replace them if I can find a better copy . I used to copy the same footage twice incase this happened , but 20 years ago didnt
realise that all the tapes would deteriorate .
I havent even looked at my Hillclimb championships videos yet , so will try to do that tonight... sleep is so overrated.
