KG engine cover/boot lid differences

Hi all,

Newish member, and not currently an owner, but hope to be very soon.

Just a quick question regarding KG boot lids.

Can anyone comment on whether there's a difference between the earlier bootlids and later (larger tail lights models) bootlids in terms of the crease either side of the number plate lamp.

I have been looking at one and it appears that the crease seems deeper, even though its a 66 model. This seems to make the number plate area much rounder looking, and kind of like the number plate doesn't sit properly. I suspect that the bootlid may have been changed at some point and they used a different model lid.

In looking at pics of the various models, from what I can see, there appears to be a shallower crease on earlier models and a deeper one on later models, but I look forward to any advice you can give me on this.

Thanks,
Adam

yep as empi said, they have a large opening where the air vent is and a plastic cover screws over it with a couple rain drainage pipes

Oh, right. So, except for the air vents, in terms of the actual shape of the engine cover itself and its interchangeability between older & newer models (smaller to larger tail light models) they will be the same?

Maybe this one I'm looking at pictures of has had the number plate area pushed in a bit, and this has caused the bottom corners to bulge out & the number plate to not fit properly.

Thanks for your replies.
