Ragtop finished!
So...
I'm keen to fit a rag to one of my early beetles, is there anyone on here that has done it before?

i have fitted a couple of original golde clips to bugs, take plenty of time to measure, measure, measure and you will be fine, there are some original
stiffening brackets at the front, make sure you keep them attached, helps with lining up also

You do not lose most of the torsional or beaming strength by fitting a sunroof. I am involved in processing numerous torsional and beaming tests on
many different types of vehicles, and the difference in strength between solid roof, and sunroof vehicles is negligible. The fact is that there is a
difference, however it is not a difference to worry about. It is certainly not most of the strength.

Hey Rural Baja.
When you say Wolfsburg, do you mean Wolfsburg West ( http://www.wolfsburgwest.com )? I did a search there and couldn't find Golde Roof Clip - maybe I'm doing something
wrong!
Would be interested in doing something like that to my '67 Bug - a clue on price would be good
When you get it don't forget to put up your step-by-step progress (including photo's of course).
Good luck, and have a great Christmas.

G'day!
Yep Wolfsburg Automotive, the new rag canvas is coming from Wolfsburg West as far as i know.
It wasnt cheap, will be looking well over $1000 but i think it will be worth it. Keep an eye out for an update
in early jan!
Cheers Will

So what your saying is . . . you bought a roof section with a bloody great hole in it - (from Wolfsburg Automotive) - your going to whack it onto your ride - (read: carefully weld) - and throw on (carefully place) the new
canvas from Wolfsburg West?
Looking foward to the update - should be fun.
Good luck

Looking awesome, can't wait to see the finished product.
I bet it's pretty hard finding a roof section with sunroof in it these days?
But I think I'll keep my eyes open as I think I NEED to have me one of them!
Keep the pictures coming

Thanks for the comments!
Yea took a little bit to find a Golde roof, just waiting for one of the front hood bows to arrive with the new replacment ragtop. I wont have any
pictures until she is back from the upholsters around the start of Febuary. Hopefully ready for the MotorMillions show at Devonport on the 12th! Wish
me luck!
