253s had a whopping 96kw and 275nm of torque so I reckon a decent Kombi box would be able to handle this. Dangerous should be able to hook you up.
If you want a 5 speed one of my standard reversed Subie boxes will easily handle that power for $3700 complete. Only drama is you have to work out the
adaptor plate and flywheel situation as it hasnt been done before.
Meh go the Kombi box as the adaptors are probably out there.

i had a 253 in a 71 bay with a 2ltre box and on the freeway at 100k 4th gear stripped and there was no load on the box.the 4th gears have a fine
tooth and dont like too much load.some of the 2ltre bxes had coarse teeth and if you could find one were better.you would be better of changing to
albins gears and using better ratios as the engine will rev hard.

haha love that whopping 96kW
why not a vn,vp,vr 3.8L V6.
much smaller, lighter and makes 170Hp (127kW) 216ft-lb (293 Nm) at the flywheel
And the best part, motors are cheap, adapters already exist and very tunable ECUs
2nd hand motor from 200-300 buks, fully rebuilt semi race (130kW? rear wheel)specs for 2.5K from none other than Spencer Race Engines.
This guy does pretty much nothing other than holden engines.
