[VIC - Non VW] - 1978 Millard Poptop Caravan with Bunks
1978 Millard Caravan.
Hard to find small, light van with bunks. Ideal for small family.
Only 800kg tare. We used to tow it with a Kia Sportage 2.0L no problems.
Body 14 foot x 6 foot 6 inches.
Overall length 17 foot.
Double bunks across the front, double bed across the rear. Front upper bunk folds up for extra seating.
Dinette on door side, Kitchenette on other.
Two way fridge (works well) and two burner cooker with grille.
Plenty of storage space under beds and in cupboards.
Innerspring rear matress.
Clock radio bolted to the wall.
Electric Brakes, new axle and new springs fitted in last few years.
Wheel berarings replaced Nov 2010. Mechanically 100%.
Twin gas bottles and provision for a bike rack on draw bar.
Raised suspension (will lower again if buyer requires).
Chrome Sunraysia rims with 175R13 LT tyres 80% tread.
Custom rear bumper with spare wheel mount.
Canvas awning (no full annex).
Microwave included if wanted.
Caravan TV aerial also included, but I think it needs repairs.
Downside:
- Has a few dents and scratches, but overall quite tidy for it's age.
- Has suffered from water leaks while in storage. I have patched up the leaks, but it really needs to be resealed properly. Water stains evident
inside.
- Some holes in pop-top flyscreens. But canvas section is fine.
We have owned this van for ten years and had many happy holidays in it. It's very comfortable and easy to tow, but we have decided to upgrade.
If we find the right replacement van, this one will be available immediately. Otherwise will be available from 23rd Feb, as we have a trip planned in
late Feb.
Available for inspection at Wyndham Vale. Photos are years old, can provide more recent photos on request.
Now RWC required in Victoria, just a small transfer fee.
