Paint originality.
Hey guys, i hav a 61 bug still in its original colour (misty grey) and i was wondering if my beetle will be more of a collectors car if it is
repainted the original colour... or does it matter ?? will the car be more valuable with an original paint job? do people care about the originality
of the cars colour ??

MY opininion is DEFINITELY paint it in the original colour
Original paint would be the most sought after
A resprayed car I dont think it really matters if it is 1974 VW Flipper Blue or 2006 Nissan Powder Blue
But I dont see a car in 70's metal flake orange or bright purple or custom green being a better resale option than a stock colour
Guess it all depends on how long you plan on keeping the car
Futue te ipsum!!!

Grey is a nice colour for beetles anyway, it's very under-used. In my opinion you should paint it any colour you like, given that it's your car. I
don't believe that maintaining the original colour really affects the resale value. If we're talking about resale value, then you may as well just
not paint the thing, given that a good paint job will often cost you more than the finished car will be worth. Build cars for yourself to enjoy, not
to sell.

i think i will stick with the original colour. The car has been with the colour for its whole life and i think its wrong to change the colour, so i
think i am going to get the car painted in the original misty grey
