My plan is to replace the head on my mirror since the plastic turned to dust when I touched it.

Stainless should/will clean up. Other questions is the mirror got any damage to the backing? ie. black spots behind glass.
can you pop out the stem? so hopefully it can fit on my stem, thus fitting late type 3.

Im yet to find NOS late mirror so I am looking at my options.

I could just buy CSP billet aluminum head thats fits most VW stems even type 3

sure you can have it. I try asking ISP if they have any new ones.

Fully restoration, I am reluctant to use anything 2nd hand.

European blood mate ;) Everything has to be done right regardless of cost. unlike 99% of Aussies

Cool story

Mirror is still there for anyone who wants it,

First in best dressed for parts now... Don't ask me questions like if it will work/fit my car or not that's your problem.. So don't enquire or request pictures unless you know it will fit/work on your car please...

sorry I have a habit of doing that. Kind of hard unless I have it in my hands to look at.

lol I did that to a guy selling brand new H4 hella head lights for $75. I was extremely weary of 2 year old NOS after market part
even if it was German made.

In the end he yelled at me to stop asking questions, So I didn't buy it :lol:
