[FS - WA] 181 182 thing Safari for sale
I am just trying to gauge some interest for the 181's.
I am presently in the process of importing 3 181's into the country and will be looking to sell 2 of them. These will all be bare metal resprayed and
have new top's, sides and trim.
They will all have new carpets and new pollished alloys and tyres.
The mechanicals will be gone through and replaced or repaired where necesary.
Sufice to say they will be very good condition and will be fitted with little extras to make them look good including door handle scratch gaurds new
mirrors and lights, new mud flaps front and rear etc.
One will be bright red with light tan trim and the other will be light blue with a black hood and two tone trim.
The prices are yet to be strickly set as I have not worked out the final cost of transport and import duties etc, but I expect them to be in the order
of $15,000 - 17,000.
They will not be available for a couple of months yet, as work is still being done.
If there is any interest out there please post me a message or reply

Sorry for the confussion guy's.
These are all factory original Right Hand Drive 182's. I am not sure how to load the photos from my westnet account, and in any event I don't have
any real good photos of the finished vehicles yet. I could Email you a couple of photos of them when I purchased them if that would help.
Rest assured these vehicles were all in very good condition prior to being painted. I went to considerable trouble in sourcing only the best examples
available.

food for thought - not sure where you are bringing them in from or who/what quality the work is/will be
but please be aware - you will find there is still some work to do if the cars are coming from Indonesia or similar, the last one that arrived in
Melbourne with shiny paint and cream leather trim still needed approx $8000 in work to bring it up to RWC and ADR compliance... and involved an
engineers approval
before you commit yourself or others make sure that the vehicles are capable of being registered here in Aus...
either way good luck - 181's and 182's are cool as and we should have more of them here....!

Absolutely true ... In Queensland it is brutal what they require ...but at the end of the day it is worthwhile ....I have to get an engineers sign off
... process process process ... in the name of safety it is all good!
These cars are an enigma so going through the hard yards is part of the fun!!!

I am curious...
What year are the "Things" that you guys own or are importing?
Would have assumed that a vehicle from the early '70's would have a been a pretty straight forward registration procedure.
Finally, uhmm... leather and carpets?!
What type of Thing is that?! Sounds like you have Range Rover.
Always interested in "Things", because, I drove one for 2 years, while living in the USA.
So simple, so much fun, and certainly no carpet or leather!
Have fun, and I sure there are people who will want a finished & registered Thing.
