subi ground clearence in a T3Bus
Hi All. Just a quick question.
In an ej33 or eg33 conversion into a T3bus. what is the difference in ground clearance. I have noticed on many vids that it is reduced. I know that a
shorter sump is used, but the beauty of the bus is the higher ground clearance. Can the engine be raised, say 5 cm if need be.

Not much room to raise unless the engine hatch is modified.
I went with a smallcar sump, gives same clearance as tranny
and a nice bit of gear.

Easier to shorten a sump by 50mm than raise an engine and transmission by 50mm.

Here is a picture of a shortened sump for an EJ33 in a Bay Kombi. From memory we gained about 70mm.
Make sure if you are getting one that it is for an EJ33 not an EJ 20 / 22. I haven't seen anyone producing an EJ33 apart from Custom Offroad
Components.

Brad. very nice looking Job. Did you do it yourself? How difficult was it, if you did. How does the ej33 cope with the vw box? gear ratios etc.
