I've got all the screws out. The whole car is stripped minus the dash and gauges. Does the speedo and stuff have to come out? or does the dash pop
off with them in?

Gauges have to come out of a type 3 before the dash comes off. Poke your hand up behind dash and squeeze the spring clips in to release each gauge.
As per another post, up to about 1971 there are screws below the windscreen as well. Later ones to 1973 have a channel below the windscreen to hold
the front of the dash in place.
See, I have been reading up on these things! Sadly, nothing suitable for sale as yet.
