wtb rear brakes


hi, i after either type 3 wide 5 rear drum brakes to fit my type 1, or a rear wide 5 disc kit similar to the cb performance kit, or a similar one with the aluminiium hub. thanks greg

I have done the Early Type 3 Rear Drum job before and you will need the backing plates and all components as well you can use late type 3 and this will give you rear adjuster access too and they are a bit easier to come by. You will also need to machine the cone of the drum down in order to get enough threads to tighten the drum on. That all said I have none of these parts and drums are hard to come by. I had heard a danish company were making good quality repros. Good Luck

thanks for the info. do u mean i can use a complete rear late type 3 set , even tho its only 4 stud. any advice appreciated. thanks greg

You can use everything except the 4 bolt flange hub and the drum, you will need the earlier drum to have the wide 5 stud pattern. Cheers,
