all new to this site

Hello everyone I have bought my daughter a 1974 beetle. She is 16 and we are exited of the fact that we need to do a few things to 'Boris' to get him to where my daughter would like to get him for her first car. He needs a paint job and the interior looked at but all in all not a bad car. We will be glad to have any input on our journey in the semi restoration of Boris from you guys . Glad to meet you all and look forward to chatting to you all

I already have driven it and like you say it is really infectious but my love is HQ Holden's. Me and my son are half way to restoring that one and we have till march next year to finish that. Mean while 'Boris" will be driven by my wife in an endeavor to get him reliable but from what I have been told that it doesn't take much to get to VW's to do that......We will see haha.....It is good that "Boris" came with a RWC and will take Little to get him to where he is a daily driver. I need to sort out the front guards as they rub on the Tyer's as it has 2.5 inch drop spindles in him. he also has an empi short shift shifter and WOW I like it but it is a little bit of a challenge for the wife at this stage...... like they say the teeth need to be brush every now and then.....haha....my wife will get it after a few more drive as she get to know him. My wife has already said to my daughter that it will be hard to hand it back to her when she gets her license. The daughter has other thoughts .......Boris has only been in the family for a week and he has already found a place in it. L will put up some pic as soon as i work it out.

Not my project it is an attempt to get my daughter to appreciate cars as she already does but more along the lines of look after it and don't do any stupid thing in it when she hit the road. My project is to see my kids happy and drive a cool car that isn't a main stream car that girls drive eg Brina's and festiva ...................yuk yuk yuk

Welcome and what a lucky young lady you have. I think the car looks great already, but maybe bumpers for my liking. But each to their own.

Keep the photos coming and you can expect a lot of help from this forum.

Kev.
