Brake pad install help
Ok... I'm putting new Pads on the beetle but I'm having a lot of trouble getting them onto the disc. It almost seems like the pads are to thick. Can
anyone help with this ?

edge the caliper piston fully backinto its groove. Mabe try a g clamp...

You need to push the calliper pistons back into the calliper to allow room for the new pads.
You can buy a tool to do this however I usually use a 'G' clamp to force the pistons back in.

front pads .??? you change one pad at a time, to push the piston back, lift one pad half way out and get some multi grips and use the pad and lever
the piston in , them put new pad in and repeat.

Sometimes you need to take the caliper off (only 2 bolts) to push the pistons in (stubborn bastards).
This is when I use a largish G clamp, with the caliper off the disk you've got enough room to use the clamp to force the piston in.

Make sure you push the piston in square, and it is not jamming or twisting. They can be tight, and experience helps in knowing how to push them.
Hopefully one side will move and you can feel confident on the other side. Be sure you have got it right when it is all back together.
