Kustom 1302 S BUG - SLIPPING CLUTCH - Engine back out, pics now up!
Well i have had for a long time now my signature with what my 1302 is to look like and i finally now have the car and now the re-build begins. 2 Weeks
ago i went up to QLD and picked up the car from my old man and braught it back down home. And This is Where the Project Begins
Back Last year in May i bourght a 1972 Superbug from a local VW Community elder named Howie that he had on his farm. I Took it home and started to get
into fixing him up but where i had it stored was no longer able to have the bug and i had nowhere for it to go and it also had ALOT! of rust in the
body but perfect original floor pans. So i decided to keep the car (well basically) and in 4 weeks i pulled every single part off it till i had a bare
chassis and i sold it to a guy in Brisbane who was building a beach buggy and the body shell was soo rusted it went to scrap. But i kept every single
part from the car.
Then in october last year i found on ebay a white 1972 Superbug at Fredo just north of Kempsey. I showed it to dad and he wasnt too keen on it and
thorght it was over priced at $2400 buy it now.
But it was re-listed and re-listed and re-listed again and again and again and i convinced dad for us to go have a look at it. So we went there and i
showed dad that alot of rust repair has been done and its a good solid car an the engine had also been rebuilt and was a good runner. She was ruff
around the edges and needed alot of tweeking and tuning to get it right but we bit the bullet and bought it for $1800 cash. We drove it away and back
home and i got stuck into fixing it up.
Then in December dad moved to the Gold coast in QLD and took the bug with him. when i came back to port from staying at dads in the christmas holidays
i didnt see the bug for months and months. I asked dad if i could buy the car off him and he said alright and was happy for me to restore and
customise it and have it as my first car on my licence. So i bourght it off dad for $900 and 2 weeks later here we are now.
I Got it and cleaned it up a bit to the white with black detail

The Bug is now back on it's wheels and is rolling once again, Now the back looks awfully too high so it will be on the list next to be done and it
will be lowered.

Doing a great job Dylan BUT just my opinion (as it happens I'm right !! ) but you have to dump that front bumper, looks bloody crap, I think I've got one here somewhere but I hide it away so it
can't be seen.

Can I asked how you managed this?
Was it not secured properly and fell off?
