Type 3 auto and diff seal suppliers ?

I have tried several auto specialists localy and i'm able to get rebuild kits for the auto section, but they are tellinh me that the seals for the diff housing and torque converter seals are listed as not available. The box shifts nice and firm and picks gears without delay so it seems fine its just leaking everywhere. Any body know of any suppliers for these parts in Brisbane?
Thanks Michael.

Hi Michael,

In 2004 I couldn't buy seals for My semi auto beetle pump in Australia.. I found who made them..
[I don't remember how??]
and sent emails away...

eventually found the company as I had an email reply from Dichtomatik in Indonesia , and I think He sold them by the 100 wholesale only...
... I then found they had warehouses in the USA..
but they also only sold wholesale... lol

I was lucky enough to find a fellow in Canada who bought them thru the honda dealership He worked for... lol

I had to buy 20 seals... lol

but sold them all easily...

they are now available from evw in the USA..

the company that made My seals was DICHTOMATIK

AND ON THE BOX ; TCM PART: 14X22X4TC

So You need to find the sizes of Your seals..
being 14mm was the ID 22mm was the OD and they were 4mm thick

so You need the size of Your seals...

best of luck

Lee

PS:try the T3D - type 3 detectives - in the UK...

MAYBE THEY CAN HELP IF ANYONE CAN...
LEE

there is another seal in type 1 autosticks that is NLA..
but its not a standard looking seal... lol and doesn't usually leak

I have recently done a Type 3 diff, a Bus diff with a 003 auto and a Bus diff with the 010 auto, and all the seals and O rings came from the local Bearing Supplier. You can try CBC as well because they have most of the seals and O rings in their system.

I gave up on local bearing suppliers years ago... for VW seals..

You were lucky getting seals from them for VWs..

unless they do sell these seals for other vehicles machines etc...

the Beetle autostick torque converter seals and other seals
weren't available thru seal companies in Australia years ago...

I don't think the seals are the problem-it's your supplier.I work for the Council here, and we have a vast range of machinery from all over the World, with the oddest bearings and seals you could imagine.I have only ever been stuck once on an Italian mower-it needed a seal 10mm wide and I could only get a 9mm replacement. The VW stuff has been never been a problem. I had to get a new rear main for my Autocraft engine-managed to get a new one-but also got it in a special high temp Viton.I got the seals for the torque convertor in Viton and 1mm narrower,so I could put 2 in.

Thanks for the replies, i was hoping to get the seals before pulling the box to speed things up a bit, but sounds like i'll need to strip it and go aftermarket. A&B seals at Underwood seem to think they'll have no problems matching them so lets hope they are right. I just found it odd that auto rebuild kits were no problem but the outer seals were NLA. Thanks again :tu:
