Autostick 71 to 68 retro grade

Hi Guys. I am replacing my Groaning 71 transaxle with and older 2nd hand unit. The existing one has one ATF temp sender which goes straight to the speedo light http://www.vintagebus.com/wiring/bug-72-supplement.jpg seen here as F13.

The replacement trans has two atf senders, but does not have the switch marked as "3" here as seen on Lees site (68Autobug thanks again!) http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2275221200050767931gqJnCg.  This switch is supposedly a selector for two different "drive ranges".

It does have a funny two blade switch when I look up the part number is a reverse switch. Anybody come across a double sensor unit without a selector, and if so, any tips on how to wire the senders to the kontrollerlamp? (little light thingy in the speedo).
I did check Vwar. But could not find it.

Cheers Pete.

Hi again Pete

in early autosticks they used an ATF temperature switch on both Drive one and drive two... and instead of using two lamps in the speedo, they had a long switch which selected D1 or D2 when they were selected in the gearbox..
If the ATF light came on in D2 then You selected D1..

VW later found out that the temperature of the ATF never got hot enough in D1 so they went to one ATF temperature sensor that works on D2 only...

so, easiest thing is to either connect both together or just connect the same sensor as on the original gearbox..

cheers

Lee
