69 Beetle Dash Grille

Hey All

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am trying to find replacement/for sale dash grill for a '69 beetle.

Just in case I do not have the technical term, I am talking about the grill that sits either side of the speedo. One side is larger than the other. I already have them but the clips are broken.,

Also does anyone know if you can get them in chrome?

Cheers

Adam

I can't answer your questions but I was wondering the same thing because I was thinking of fitting some aftermarket gauges in those panels. Was also wondering if anyone has done this or where else people mount aftermarket gauges.
I'll let you know if I find any in my travels though.

Hey SBug

It looks like I have located some. In regards to you question, I was able to locate ones with precut holes for guages.

I will see if I can find them again

You would have to find someone selling them in chrome or maybe polished alloy..
but maybe USA only.... check empi catalogue..

I bought a pair or alloy ones with holes in them for gauges
for a LHD dash but I presumed I could just turn them over..
that doesn't work... even wrong shape...

the main problem is that RHD and LHD pieces are different shapes... naturally

and You can buy alloy and chromed LHD ones in the USA..

I have seen chromed ones in cars in Australia but I assume they would have been originals that have been chromed..

PS: You can tape them into place and then apply some silastic [silicon] on them from behind the dash...
You shouldn't be able to see it then...[the silicon]
