Centre pull linkages


Gents

Who makes a decent centre pull linkage system for Webers/Dellortos.

I have tried an Empi and a Scat, they look exactly the same and have the same problems.

Besides being crap quality wise, the centre pull shaft has to be high to clear the alternator, this puts the arm for the cable so far away from the outlet in the shroud is nearly at right angles. Plus thats on the outer most hole for the cable and that leaves you with only 3/4 throttle, to get full throttle i need one hole closer in and that just makes the cable angle worse.

Any one have any good pics of their setup.

I've had these linkages on my oval for over 6 years and haven't had any problems you just have to fiddle with them a bit to get the right angle.
You have to get a longer throttle cable.

Very neat and tidy aren't they? A guy on "The Samba" has been making them, It's a full cable kit right back to where the original cable hooks on beside the tunnel. Apparently Jake Raby became very interested in them and has taken the guy on board. Nothing but good reports in the 8 pages of posts. Only downside is they won't physically fit if your cooling shroud has heater outlets.

Ye seen them, tried to buy a set of that Jake Raby, he isnt selling them yet as he isnt happy with his printed instructions. I told him i didnt care about instructions and i needed a set, his reply was no.

He my be. Gret guy etc etc, but frikken hell, its throttle linkage, it int rocket science.

So me being the industriuos type of guy, i contacted Auto Cables Australia, he can make the cables and the adjusters. I just have to come up with the wheels and brackets. Brackets i can mke at work, but the wheels are an issue as i cnt have access to the Cnc machine until after bathurst.

Will have to farm that part out.

I tried a few cable setups like the one on Samba. His thread reads well, and they look great, his you tube vid show's how easy they are to adjust etc etc.
The Aussie version was made by LMS Engineering in good ol Campbelltown. Stoker is on here occasionally, he may still knock you up some wheels.

I would still go with Berg for your application (altho open to CSP as I haven't tried them).

Hi

The cable setup looks the goods but it could still be made using the lever like the ones found on most common setups instead of the wheels.

You would need to mount the cable bracket like this guy has done and have another sepearte cable pulling on one of the carbs.

Give it few weeks and Empi will be making shitty copy.

CSP centre pull linkage is awesome!!! I've had it on one of my bug's for a couple of years now, easy as to set up, great pedal feel and doesn't go out of adjustment.

I've also got the Scat centre pull on another bug (cheap copy of CSP) and it was an absolute bitch to setup, I don't like the pedal feel, overall it's crap but you get what you pay for.

My next setup will definitely be a cable setup, all the motorbikes I've owned have been cable and it works great and doesn't need adjusting.

Is the Csp centre pull linkage the one with that bell crank that bolts to the top of the case and the rods out to each arm.

I thought about making pne of them as well as they looked good also.

Anyone have one for sale

Not sure if you need it, however I've got it on mine and the pedal is nice and soft with good feel, I really hate a heavy/stiff throttle!!

well my csp centre pull for porsche shroud arrived today. i spent 3 hrs and it still isnt finished. the system works nice, the instructions said to remove shroud to fit crank bell linkage. well thats fine but the shroud wont fit over it,unless u take all the bolts out, cut the shroud and then its a pain to bolt it back up. or u could cut a big chunck out of the shroud, it fit easily but u have a hole about 50mm by 75mm for the air to escape. the instructions dont tell u that. but they do say its simply the finest linkage out there .oh csp are the best?????????????????????

standard cable, adjustable stops on each side to preserve cable and throttle shafts, choice of spring rate for pedal feel, even opening of duals from idle to full throttle......adjust and forget

What sort of Porsche shroud do you have??

I'm guessing it's designed to work with their Porsche shroud.

I tried Allan at Stokers vw, he had no idea what i was talking about. He stated that the only linkage he would ever put on a car would be a centre pull

That gene berg linkage is a mile ahead of the other copies and clones hey, the way the cross shaft is supported in the middle and the way the two levers are allow for correct cable alignment. Pretty good.

Well i ordered a Csp bellcrank system from csp yesterday, it was posted same day, then i get an email which said.
Please keep in contact with us after you have recieved and install the linkage. We like to help or customers not just sell parts.

Hey Clinker, here's my post mate. LMS ENGINEERING in SYDNEY. Dave Stoker was the manufacturer of those push/pull cable linkages.I've used/fitted them in the 90's.

OK - I have just finished installing a CSP Bellcrank linkage on my Dellortos
I got the return spring - but to be honest I reckon the Dells springs would do. Either that or I had some progressive carb springs that would have fitted.
What ever - for $5.00 I got one.
The whole thing was like $150 delivered. It is worth that for an opinion

Easy enough to fit

Initial impressions is nice and smooth.
MUCH better than the CB hex bar set up I had

Anyway - I have had some small drives around the block.
About to go for a decent drive

I fabricated my centre pull set up, extra tag is to attach the cruise control actuator.

OK - its a month that I have had the CSP linkage and probably put a 1,000 kms on it and I have to say it's the ducks nuts

Havent tried a Berg - but for the money, doubt I would move away from the CSP
