Hi dubbers,

Im chasing info/pics of 'Gunyah grey' bugs and the paint code/mix OR a close match that is available from another marque.

So far have found one pic, but not 100% sure its Gunyah and a formula>
White 89
Carbon black 8
Ferrite yellow 2
Red oxide 1

My first Beetle was Gunyah grey - bought it new in January, 1960. Around mid 1960, VW made quite a few changes, including the paint colours, and Gunyah grey was dropped. The paint itself was changed from lacquer to baked enamel, also.



I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

my 54 orig came in either that gray or a similar one
I have og paint on the og deck lid I have wrapped in cotton wool to match for a paint job later one day.. :rolleyes:
if it's the same can someone let us know pls
then we all have more knowledge about such things

yes thats the formular

it was used in 1956 and 1959 paint number 286-7883 from DUCO

204-4836 White 89 parts
204-6305 Carbon black 8 parts
204-5048 Ferrite yellow 2 parts
204-5668 Red oxide 1 part
