My new narrowed beam ** ON THE ROAD !!

I just finished narrowing and lifting the centre pin on my bus beam. Also bought some adjustable spring plates.

Thanks. It took me a weekend. I had to fabricate a jig as i didnt have my bus with me. The next one will be a lot quicker I'm sure plus I'm going to use all new tubes and lazercut side plates. I loved doing it!

Sorry for the late response guys. I didn't realise I had reply's!

Klaus - Yep chassis notch and tubs are next! :)

Hey Eccles! Yeah mate! I'm hanging to get this thing parked out front! Before xmas is looking really good!

Vw nutter - I bought the springplates from Type 2 detectives: http://www.type2detectives.org/  Great guys, great service and communication. Prices are here: http://www.bugwelder-shop.com/t2dshop/index.php?cat=c9_T2D-Rear-End-Parts.html  (I know a guy in Australia that has a new set his selling. PM me and I'll find his details)

Kombirod - Raising the centre pin gives you more ground clearance from the lower beam to the ground. If somethings going to hit it'll hit the lower beam opposed to the centre pin, not that you want it to hit but getting things out the way as much as possible makes for a safer mod. The centre pin sits about half inch lower than the lower beam. A must for slamming a bus.

Yup. No welding, flip them so the ball joint fits from underneath. Neet idea and it gives you an extra inch.

Spindles look good.
How much did they set you back and did they require a core set for exchange?
Also noticed that Transporterhaus will post worldwide free in the month of December.
Could be a good deal.::cool:

No core as it would have been too expensive on top of the cost of the spindles, exchange rate and shipping. Herre is a link to prices and manufacturing: http://transporterhaus.de/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6...

Definitely take advantage of free shipping worldwide! Great deal!

Here's some progress shots of the beam getting installed. Apart from a few minor mods it bolted straight up and everything clears good and well.
