Speedo Problems!

Speedo Problems!

Okay so I took the beast for a nice drive down to Phillip Island in the sun on Saturday.

On the way back the speedo was just flying up and down on the freeway, bouncing left to right. As soon as I stopped the speedo ceased it's life and now isn't working.

A couple of questions:

Before I go out and buy a new one, is there anything I should check first?

Secondly I have seen a lot of speedos for sale without the fuel gauge, is it an easy job to put my gauge in the new one?

As usual a big thank you in advance for all your help!! :)

Remove the cable and see if it has broken.

Yes, its quite simple to remove and replace the fuel gauge

just be careful of the needle... BUT...

the speedo cable normally snaps a few strands at a time before completely breaking off...
that is why the cable swings all over the place...

cables are quite cheap... and easy to fit...

speedos don't usually give trouble,,, its usually the cable...
