I recently built a new 1600 motor and put a new rebuilt 30 pict carb on it. With my old 1200 engine28 pict carb the inlet manifold ran cold and even had condensation. The new 1600 with the 30pict runs hot with no condensation so far I have adjusted the idle screen and the air fuel mix screen what else do I need to do or is this normal whats it meant to do? thanks guys

Hi

The preheat tube should sizzle if you lick your finger and touch the heat riser. The old one was probably blocked.

Hi
the exhaust gases run thru the bottom of the inlet manifold from one side to the other heating it up to stop the carby from icing up..
so, its normal...
I had to change My manifold as the heatriser part was blocked and rusted out..
My carby used to ice up when the temperature was cold... like 0-8 degrees C

cheers
