Something here doesn't look right to me.
After having owned my bug now for a few months, decided I'd get my hands dirty and begin doing some maintenance on my little 1200.
Today I got around to adjusting the valves, took off the first cover, and something didn't look right to me.... apart from everything looking filthy.
Is something missing?
I'd also noticed when driving, that the engine would make a sound similar to a pinging/knocking sound under hard acceleration (ie when entering
traffic or under load up a hill) -
I'm guessing this might be the cause?
Thanks,
Andy

Yeah had another look, and there looks like there's a fine shim missing also.
Thanks to all!
