Ignition/fuel/engine problem
Hi Guys
Need some advice
I have just noticed after taking my Buggy out for a drive that only one side of the engine gets hot . #3, #4 side. I have a dual exhaust set up and
only the one on the #3,#4 side gets hot as well. This side also sounds a little louder and is more consistent in rhythm. The other side sounds more
irregular and pops under deceleration sometimes. The performance seems normal and drove ok. If I didnt notice the cold exhaust I wouldnt have thought
there was a problem. Just worried that there is internal damage. I have a 1916 with dual Kads. I tried different spark plugs and leads. checked fuel
was going to both carbs. All good. I thought maybe a blocked jet so I took the air cleaner off the cold side dripped extra fuel in the carb and it
back fired. Any thoughts ??

did it backfire befor it happened? the popping on deceleration could be your muffler flange there only like $12 ive had the same problem with my 1800
tp
With your performance not being normal do it feel like the engine is overloading it self like when you get to the certain revs when it gets up and
goes it doesnt feel like it wants to this could be cause from the tappets being too tight
hope this help and merry Christmas
cheers jamie

Ok will check both sides. When I say colder I mean I can hold the exhaust pipe after 5 min of running. And the air coming out is warm at best. There
is little radiant heat when I touch tappet cover. I dont think any fuel is igniting on that side to cause any heat. will the tappet adjustment correct
this ? I spose we will see. Thanks for the advise guys.
