wiring loom
does anybody know where i can get a complete loom for a 72 bug and also where does the wire off the -ve terminal on the coil go to please
(down the harness under the seat?)

the Negative Terminal is connected to the distributor
the Positive to the ignition [power]
do You have a pic of the engine?
a Complete wiring loom [new] is Very expensive.... $$$$
sounds like someone has been fiddling/modifying the wiring??

The -v wire (1) goes to the points. If there is a second wire, it goes to the VW Diagnosis socket or it is non standard which could be a tacho or
engine immobilser/alarm.
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.
Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!

+ve lead
thanks for the help. I have two leads on the coil on the positive side? plus the one to the fuel solinoid and choke.
there should be one according to haynes manual.
The plug on the back fire wall i take is the test point. do i need this or can I rewire with out it, there seems to be shit loads of wires so I am
going to start again.
any tips

You can delete the socket and its associated cables.
