1641 turbo and a lick of NOS need advice

Hey there after any advice or suggestions from you guys being VW pro's,
i have a 1641 with a gt17 turbo, 38mm wastegate blowing thru a weber 32/36 dgv i have the plate for nos installed but not sure if required i only installed it due to i have ran it on many of my drag cars to get up on boost at the start line  so i know it works well.
My question is will my stock l bug gearbox handle it or will i need to go the kombi box route i have time to change angles because the car wont be here for another couple of days without the motor in it i can modify the forks and such like required.
also i am only hoping for the 70-80hp range nothing to stupid i have had a couple of turbo beetles but not this small of a set up any info or suggestions would be great.

get it on a dyno and get the mixtures close first.
I would try the L-bug box first and then it will give you a base for future upgrades and ratio changes.

From what I hear the l bug boxes are capable of ej20 turbos if driven with some sympathy, and about 150hp or so if not..... But this is not from experience, just what I pick up around here

yeah my last 1679 with a t25 only had about 90hp and the l box handled it with ease not to be said about the original 67 box lol
