Front seats with built in seat belts?
I am going through the process of trying to get my Thing compliance without having a roll cage.
The issue is the lap/sash requirement here in sunny Brissie and the Department of Transport .... hmmmm
So .. does anyone know of a seat that has built in seat belts that may be used for my car?
Appreciate all you can give me
Cheers
Greg

i don't think you can have those mate because they have to be structurally mounted to somewhere on the car. no point having a seat-belt connected to
the seat if the seat comes loose lol. have you talked to an engineer about it?
Check this guy out
DB Autotech Mod Plate Compliance
http://www.dbautotech.com.au/
he did the compliance for putting child seat points in the bug and knows ALOT about the ins and outs of compliancing classics ( he has like 15
classics himself ) it's a shame none of them are VWs though hahahaha
you can also download the mod list from queensland transport website if you want to do some research yourself
Hope that helps

There is this one getting around the shows in Brisbane. It has a bar mounted for the seatbelts but doesn't look to bad.

I know that Mercedes CL seats have the seat belts built into them. Any convertible or coupe is worth checking out. Also, some of the companies who
manufacture seats for buses and vans might be able to help you out. They show pictures of bench seats on their websites, but they can also do buckets
with built-in seat belts. Here's a few ideas.

The originals are lap only ..... good if you have a Mini Moke but not good for anything else!

Queensland transport says I must have lap/sash belts ... I do not want to put a roll cage in this car to meet that requirement ... it detracts from
the beauty of the car IMHO ... so I am looking for a practical alternative and this is where I am up too!
Actually not planning of crashing into anything ... it is those who plan to crash into me that I am worried about!

Just a thought but my cab has the sash part of the belt anchored in the panel beneath the rear side window and above the winder handle if that's of
any help. No rollcage of course.
