I've seen the results from when they go bang. Be carefull as to who you buy from.
I'd recommend buying a kit from Scat or CB and assembling it here, that way you can be sure with what you get.

Agreed - I have heard numerous stories and seen motors with all sorts of stuff inside.
Built out of parts bins on the inside and shiny China on the outside.
Cases that are on their fourth bore
There seems to be a whole market in the states where I reckon they are after the sand rail market where they almost expect the motor to go bang
When you look at the price of a motor from a reputable person they are not much cheaper.
As Matt said, buy a kit and assemble here

Hi
as the others have said
buy a newly assembled engine in Australia
or even have one built...
they [in the USA] know that there won't be any comeback when an engine is sold overseas due to the high costs involved in returning anything... then
they can say You were using the wrong oil of fuel...
there are lots of good engine builders in Australia and on AVD
cheers
LEE
PS: their engine adds all look good...
painted too...lol

hear nothing good form over seas, buy local, know what you have, know where you can source local parts ( and quality). get some one here in aus who
knows how to build a quality aircooled motor correctly and one that suits your needs rather than POWER! with no reliability or fuel ecconomy. they
look good in chrome but after 1000km you get what you pay for, and really what a few hundred now is cheaper than the towtruck fee latter???

You can be just as unlucky buying it here, there are just as many butchers in Australia as in the US, buy a kit from the US yourself, part of the
owning a vw is learning new skills.
