TORSION BAR PROBLEMS

 Hi lads hope someone here can help me.I lowered the back of my 1303 by one outer spline on one side and proceeded to do the other side .I got the spring plate off and turned up a spline, put it back on and the torsion bar is sticking out a few mil past spring plate end cap.I tried giving the torsion bar a few wacks with a hammer to no avail. Now this is my question. Do the torsion bars meet in the middle and could the side i did first be over too much and stopping the other side from pushing in?

unload it and make sure the splines all line up,give it a few taps(not wacks ) should go in. had the same problem with mine not long ago but mine went in to far. not sure how they can stick out as the spring plates have bits pressed over so they cant stick ouyt???

Is there an allen key or something holding the inner spline end in because even with a good few hard wacks of a hammer i cant get either side out

Use some longer bolts or threaded rod to get the end cap on then swap back to stock One at a time

Hi

The spline hole goes all the way through so if one side goes in too far it could stop the other side from going in all the way. There is normaly a build up of muck to stop this happening.

2 longer bolts fitted diagonally will let you pull it down enough to get the original bolts in.

I had this problem as well though a long length of fish tank bubbler type hose on the end of the compresser gun blew it out very well. wear glasses though the crud sprays out in quite a blast!!
