Crate Door-to-Door Service
Hey all!
I'm wondering if anyone knows of an Australia wide crate service that does door to door delivery?
Will need to be picked up from Darwin and then down to Adelaide. Hopefully it'll only be a half crate but at the moment I don't have the actual
dimensions as I have not been supplied with any just yet.
Any nudge in the right direction would be great!

go ego couriers, get Rueb to wrap the wheels individually & it will work out easier for handling etc.
door to door is the full price, door to depot or depot to door is 25% cheaper, or depot to depot is 50% cheaper.

Will probably go e-go, thanks guys!
And I would get him to wrap them individually but the brakes are included too, so easier for a half crate I guess

make sure you can unload it your end otherwise they will charge extra if they have to return with a tailgate loader....
other than that e-go is excellent service and easy to arrange over the net.

Hmm, if I just do door-to-door, will they then automatically realise that I am going to need a way for them to unload it, right?
Oh well, just keeping my options open and finding out as much as possible before organising everything.

TransDirect looks like they are who I will be going with that's for sure!
So much cheaper than e-go and offers door to door service which is great.

It's been my experience that no courier "automaticaly knows" that they will need to arrange some way of unloading, they EXPECT YOU to know and
arrange ready for when they arrive at your door, into their depot is different as they (most of them anyway) have the unloading facilities on hand.
I dream of a day when a chicken can cross a road without being asked for it's motive!

Ah, fair enough Donn!
Might be able to do something different anyway, might be sending the wheels bolted to a disc separately, then the calipers and rear backing plates in
another box. Separates stuff, but will cut down on costs to get it from Darwin to mine immensely

Seb, No matter who you choose, always ask for a "back loading rate" quotation, if you are not in a hurry.
They just hold your shipment until they have a truck heading your way that is not fully loaded - they use the "back-load" to top-up that trip.
There are big savings to be made - may take a bit longer to arrive but well worth it. Lance.

It might also be worth contacting Northern Territory Freight Services and Northline Freight, both of which are in Darwin and service Adelaide
|
