I say yes, the 1800 will work if the 2 litre starter is used with the 2 litre bell housing.

Two replys with two different answers haha.
I'll let you guys know whos right tomorow when I refit the engine. If it doesn't fit i have a 1800 bellhousing here I can use, just don't really feel like swapping them over.

the trick is to use the right quill-shaft

It all went together fine, which suprised me with the mix match of parts i have going on. 1600 box with a bellhousing from a 5speed 80s box, 2L starter motor, 1800 input shaft, 1800 flywheel and clutch and a 2L engine

I was under the impression that 2L starter, bellhousing, flywheel, clutch was a set.

We have 1800 starter, bellhousing, flywheel, clutch. On a 2L box. The 1800 clutch is 215mm yeah?

It's only the clutch diameter that changed, so the deeper bell housing was used to get clearance for the starter.

i bought mine from a guy up north somewhere, he was meant o send me the porsche type axle flanges with it (but didn`t) i fitted it & ran it for about 3 months, but it made a crunching noise, so i ripped it out, parked it in the corner of the shed & bought a Pelquin slippery diff from Mr Rod Penrose

i havn`t yet opened the Lockrite up to see what`s happened with it, but i was told they have a lifetime warantee but not sure how that works

i expect it may have just shred a side gear dog teeth (my guess) so i don`t see it costing much to fix, if the so-called lifetime warantee doesn`t happen

But still , it`s just sitting here, minding it`s own business, i`ve no need for it, but if you want awesome grip, then these give you exactly thaT
