fuel leak from carb
howdy all, picked up my new ride the other day( a 67 beetle) after driving it home, i let it sit for a little while and tried to start it again. it
wouldnt start, so i opened the deck lid only to find fuel leaking from carb when i opened throttle. its leaking on the right side of carb as u look at
it. any ideas? think i may have been lucky to get it home without a barbeque on my hands

If it is the right hand side as you look in it will most likely be the accelerator pump diaphragm, this will come in a carby kit.

did it have clearance against the generator? New carbs can fit but be tight against the gen on the accel pump housing.
Otherwise check the size jets in the old carb to the new ones and they should swap if needed.
Otherwise, do you have a book for setting the carb. t's fairly easy

Buy a Haynes manual or get a Bentley. Bentley is the best but Haynes is pretty good and both are lightyears better than Gregory manuals. I've wasted
soo much money on Gregories and there detailed how to's pale in comparison to the Haynes manuals. Just my experience
