[FS - NSW] 62 (and a half) deluxe beetle

I bought this to use as a daily driver but it looks like we're about to relocate and can't justify taking both dubs with us so unfortunately its time to put this up for sale

This is a great unmolested car, which originally came from the Tamworth area so has had a dry life.
Gulf Blue with amazing patina on the OG paint and crazing on the wings which have been blown over some time in its life.

The interior is really good condition, with the passenger and rear seats in near perfect condition. The drivers seat is split but very usable.

The engine is its original 40hp still with the stale air set up and even an original VW silencer - no aftermarket rubbish on this

A few cool accessories on it (which I assume have been there since new) are the fibreglass wing&rear valance protectors, external sunvisor and the chrome stone gaurds on the rear wings.

When I got it at the end of last year it hadn't been on the road for 10 years so I replaced the following to make it road worthy

Master and wheel cylinders replaced
All brake hoses replaced
Serviced with new spark plugs and points
Rebuilt carb
Replaced inlet manifold seals
Replaced flywheel oil seal and oil cooler seals
Flexible fuel hoses replaced.
Hard fuel lines cleaned out.
New 6 volt Battery
New battery cables (both pos and earth)
Battery tray replaced (The car is so dry, I assume the corrosion was due to a leaking battery, not water)
Windscreen rubber replaced
Rear window rubber replaced
Vent windows rubber and inner scrapers bought but not fitted
King and Link pins replaced
Dropped spindles fitted (Original spindles will also come with the car so it can be put back to stock height)
American Eagle `wide 5 Fuchs`with 145 Maxxis up front and 195 Bridgestones on the rear

We stripped the car to clean it and make sure all was solid - A real family project over Christmas with untold hours of polishing and cleaning going into it

Rego till Jan 2013
Car is in Kellyville Ridge, NSW and just looking for what I've put into it which is about $5000
Ring me on 0428 808619
Thanks
Keith

Why not? And I don't ask to start any arguments, I am new to Beetles and looking to purchase soon, so anything I can learn about market prices / peoples opinions help me.....

I don't want to put down someone elses ride, but most of the things listed are ware and tare, the paint is showing rust or worn through, its still 6V, bent bumper and running board rubber is falling apart its in desperate need of restoration. Don't get me wrong its probably a sound car car but you wouldn't get insurance for 5K. Thats my opinion. Great project car.

If it's a rust free car then I reckon it's worth every penny if not more.

If you can't do the work yourself rust can be expensive to repair properly, assuming you can get some to do it properly.

IMHO I like it.:tu:

IMO a car is worth what people are prepared to pay for it.
It was put up for sale not for judgement but I guess this being a public forum we are free to voice opinions.
Looks good to me.

It doesn't look like it needs anything, to me. Apart from a loving owner.
