Ankor Wax
Can anyone give me the low down on ankor wax?
where can i buy it in Briso north area, how do i apply it and is it true that once it used on a car you'll never be able to paint the car in the
future????
Does it form a clear coat and does stop surface rust from spreading.

Dont know about brissy, but Bus&Bug stock it. Check the VWMA Mag for others.
Maybe Das Resto Haus??
As far as the paint goes, that is not true. It is a wax, so just like anything on your cars paint (silicon based wax polishes etc) they have to be
removed before paint. A good quality wax and grease remover will break down the anchor wax.
So it may be 20% harder to prep (guessing figures) as the anchor wax is better quality, but prep will be the same for anyone painting.
As far as application, I have never put the stuff on so I won;t weigh in there.

Buy it from Das Resto Haus
As for never being able to paint your car, that is wrong. Generally if you want to paint your car I would hope you wouldn't be just painting over
what you already had anyway but doing the appropriate body prep. Taking away the paint is obviously going to take away the Ankor Wax with it.
It will preserve the patina you already have, of applied correctly on a nice dry body, it will prevent any further rusting. Generally it's applied
with a paint brush and then rubbed back with a rag depending on the look you want. Keep in mind it is a form of wax and not suitable to be lent on in
nice clothes

Penatrol does not give you the silky matt look anchor wax does. It dries clear and ever so slightly wet look / gloss.
Good stuff though.

By all means stop at bunnings and get an aerosol, They are in a red lid with gold brown body tin. About $25 per tin though I think from memory.
If you are doing a whole car, you can get it in bulk and spray it with a spray gun. May be a lot cheaper.

yeah man, penetrol is the shite. Holger did it on his old Rat 56. easier to apply than anchorwax, and not as thick. It does take a day or 2 to settle
propperly though

I put holger onto that some time ago, it needs to be reapplied probably every 3-6 months for best results. It doesn't play well with alkali
degreasers though.
. Just slop it on with a rag and protect it from bugs flying into it for a few hours.
Just as a point of note if you have a stainless fridge or dishwasher you are sick of cleaning finger prints off, give it a coat of penetrol every once
in a while.
Quit calling rust patina
