ADVICE..BEST ELECTRIC PUMP FOR 1916cc POWERED BEETLE WITH 40mm IDFs.
Hi there can anyone like Matt Berry..recommend an electric fuel pump for my wifes beetle..The current electric pump has no flared ends on the inlet
and outlet of the pump and due to this the fuel line has came off the pump and deposited 20 litres of fuel at my mates crash shop..The Motor is a 1916 running dual 40mm HPMXs..Can anyone recommend a electric
pump that doesn't pulsate and offers the right fuel pressure for my setup. Also what is the recommended pressure?..regards Jason

Find a quiet pump is my best advice.
If you are not 100% confident on the pressure the pump will supply then fit a presure regulator

I have the same pump as vwo60 and it's the goods. I have a 1916 with twin 40 idf's and I've mounted it under the fuel tank on the tunnel with a bit
of soft rubber underneath the mounting bracket. It's very quiet, just a small hum from inside the cabin before you fire the engine up. I think you
only need about 3-4 psi.
Cheers Michael .

I knew the standard pump works fine with them but unfortunately I chose to go electric to clean up the engine bay..plus all the wirings there now so
may aswell stay electric..

x2, looking for 3 PSI, but these pumps are regulated and seem to be reliable.

Thanks for the replies guys and gals..I was looking at the CB Performance pumps last night but wasn't looking forward to the wait and the freight
prices from the States especially from CBs.
Thanks to Rod Penrose for hooking me up with a CB rotary 3.5 psi pump. Once the car comes back from getting the roof resprayed Ill pull the tank out
(which is empty now..lol) and fit up the new pump. I have a feeling that the old pump that was in there was pumping too much pressure..it was flooding
and not burning all the fuel..plus not having barbed ends seemed strange to me..luckily it happened now rather than when we are out driving it putting
some kays on it..
