WTB early Pre69 Squareback

Aloha All!
Type3 Contingent sent me here and I'm currently looking for an early Squareback (Pre69 because of it's swingaxle) and shipped to Hawaii to accompany my 68' Fastback  I'm really looking into a Square but if there's an early Notch within my descriptions below, feel free to PM me.

Condition:
Solid Driver - Zero to minor mechanical issues and enough to be a daily driver with majority of the electricals working. Enough so it's okay to drive up to the port and be able to be shipped onto the barge. I want to make sure I can daily drive it back here in Hawaii so I can work on my Fastback.

Good and Straight Body - No Accidents, never been previously restored with bondo/body filler, haven't been cut or welded, No Rust/Rot holes, but surface rust/patina is okay. Solid pan, heater channels, and rockers. I'm trying to avoid these because it's hard to source parts especially T3s back here in Hawaii. Hawaii has a lot of bug and ghia fanatics hehe  And everything has to be ordered and shipped from the states or anywhere worldwide :(

My Budget:
I'm still not sure how much shipping will be from Australia to Hawaii (96766). But with everything including, my budget would be around anything between $2k to $10K. If anyone knows what shipping companies are out there in Australia, could you help point me in the right direction? Google isn't being friendly hehe.

My Location:
Lihue, Hawaii 96766
We have Matson and Horizon for auto shipping but i don't think their service runs to Australia.

I may seem a bit too picky but then again I'm very open to anyone selling a T3. Thanks for looking and hope to hear from you soon.

It will cost you around $4-5K to have the car shipped out to you... so you're not gonna get much for you budget I feel. Best to source from the states, cheaper & closer.

My budget will probably get better towards the end of the year when my contract ends out here but I just wanted to put it out there based on the guidelines. I'm still looking around the states through theSamba and ebay but no luck . However, any chance you know who these shipping companies are that does automobile shipping overseas? I tried googling but every quote I get are from the "state to Australia" and nothing from "Australia to the states." Thanks again though for the heads up on shipping prices :D

Aloha Eccles! thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. and everyone else out here has been so helpful i.e. ColonyVW, Split, L469, Robb!

After searching everything I could on the interwebs, I woke up this morning to post on TheSamba with a 68' Square located in Cali. PO has been bombarded with a load of people trying to offer her lower than the asking price. I figure her asking price was already a steal so I had to contact her. Within an hour of me waking (12.5 hours ahead of Cali), we already had a deposit in and the rest of the transaction will be done this week. Including a booking to Hawaii through Matson Shipping. Can't wait to be back home in July with the new addition. I'm sure the fiance will be haha!

Here's the link on TheSamba:

And some pics to save you the time :D

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj107/SilentBlades/68%20Square/68SquareIR.jpg

There's a few things on the car that has been done that I don't agree with. But it's a solid Square and plans are to redo the interior close to original and work with the brown upholstery that they've installed.

Thanks and big Mahalo again for being so helpful. I'll be sure to visit here again. Next is gonna be a pre-69 notch :D

Mahalo!,
Wendell

LOL! I couldn't stop cracking up from your post reply. Although I won't be able to do much when I get home (Kaua'i, Hawaii) on vacation in July, since I'll be spending time with family and the lady. Actually was gonna work on my 68' Fastback and have the suspension redone. So I guess the Square will be the grocery/parts getter for the time being. I'll be home at the end of the year full time when my work out here is done :D That'll be when I'll park the Square to get some minor work done :)

Thanks again Eccles. I'll be sure to take a ton of pics when I'm home and have a few shots of both the Square and Fasty. Enjoy the rest of the week and I'll for sure keep you all posted :D

Aloha,
Wendell
