Radiator in a bay?
I really don't want to do the radiator under neath like I've seen most people do on the bay busses. I saw where rocknrob put his up front and I like
the idea. This is for my 72 thats getting a ford 2.3 swap.
But I don't like the idea of giving up the fresh air box. What if I removed the lower vents on the box. Put an elbow on it to direct into the
radiator. Have a hole in the floor like rocknrobs.
Remove this section (thought it might be a clearerpic)
Or am I going to not have enough airflow hitting the radiator? I figure the piping alone from front to back will help with the cooling.

ok. Heres where my thinking has lead me to. ( I know i have some mad mspaint skills.) I will use some type of elbow on the fresh air duct. (Honestly
thinking of using some home HVAC pieces) . But the radiator setup i think would work good, especially with a slim fan. It would cut down on the
thickness of the box, I don't want to lose leg room.

I like this setup and don't know why others haven't done it. Makes a heap of sense to me.

You could put two smaller radiators in the engine bay, just needs a bit of effort to panel them in so all the air goes through them from the vents,
works perfectly even in the hottest weather, nothing up the front to take away the look of the car, no pipe work under the car and it is simple, by
the photo's a lot less work..

No vwo60 has'nt but he has certainly helped me with my conversion and he knows that it works.

My twin radiator system in the engine bay has been fine tuned with a set of clear Just Kampers Earz (air intake scoops) and number plate stand-off.
Radiator fans now do not come on driving at any speed and only when stopped in heavy traffic.

It took a fair bit of work to get right so it actually looks like the factory did it, just follow the links that karmann141 has posted and you will
see the end resault, the best conversion i have seen with the resaults to back it up without butchering the vehicle.

Thanks for the compliment Pete, I'd like to say that I was the only one to make this work, but unfortunately I'm not.
We've all been afflicted by the same 'bug' Hitlers curse and would like to offer credible advise when it is sought. Many of us have have had this
disease for along time and learnt through trial and error as to what does and does'nt work and would like to pass on our experience. There are many
solutions to a problem.
This is but my solution to a problem - its simple, effective and works. May not be everyones cup of tea, but it works and works well.

I'd be interested to see how the civic radiator works out for you. I'm doing the same radiator on my speedster with a 2.0 4 banger. Previous
experience with the dual core radiator is pretty good, but then again, that was getting full frontal instead of partial exposure.
Is yours dual or single core? What fan do you have planned? I hear that the oem unit is the best option, but once again, not proven.
