gauge positioning
Hi guys
I have just got a full set of vdo gauges for my baja speedo,rpm,oil pressure and temp volts and fuel . I am a bit up in the air on how to position
them . I have cut out the dash and welded it up so i n put them we is best . I have 2 options .
1. put the speedo and tack each side of centre of steering wheel and 2 gauges either side whitch means i can see all the gauges easily but they are
close together .
2. put the speedo in the middle tacko on the right and 2 gauges each side this gives more room to spread the gauges but makes it hard to see some of
them
what do you guys think

My vote would be first option... Simply because you will be able to see them all easily..... I also think it would look much nicer too !!!!

I put the speedo and taco in the middle with the oil temp and oil pressure at the bottom, you can see these gauges clearly with no obstruction from
the steering wheel, the top two gauges, volts and fuel are partialy obscured, i run a 14" momo wheel, if you had a standard wheel all of the gauges
are visable, they are as close together as i can get them.

They are pricol, look like smiths, don't laugh, they are made in india by VDO. every thing works well and have checked them for accuracy, been in the
car for about five years. a lot of cobra guys use them.

vw060 that looks great..
I have the common way with 3 vdo gauges plus Tacho and VW speedo
I bought the gauge plates from the USA and thought I could just reverse them for RHD.. WRONG
they didn't fit that way at all, so i had to make the panels.. lol

Oh Poo! I just bought some of those panels in the US. I'm not home to try them but it sounds like they're not going to fit.

Hey 68Autobug,
Did you completely remanufacture the panels or cut holes in the ones that were already fitted? I've got the same gauges and am not sure how to go
about fitting them. I don't really want to cut holes in the panels in case I balls it.
