What's best dual carb linkage and manifold kit?
As the title reads, I'm looking for the best linkage and manifold kit for duall 40idf webers for my type 3.
Getting a little confused as to the availability and reliability of what's out there. I see alloy hex bar kit and I did see a steel round bar kit at
one stage but can't seem to find it again.
I just want no hassles. I have a set of weber 40idf carbs for VW but nothing else. Starting from scratch so to speak. Need some help finding the
quality parts for a trouble free setup.

Try CB performance website. Used this kit on my notchback when i had it. Was happy with it.

I have just got but not yet fitted a set of Dellortos (same as IDF).
I have the normal short manifolds to suit the type 3, the CSP bellcrank linkage and K&N low rectanglular filters.

The CSP is a brilliant bit of kit
No hex bar wear and no springs jumping out when you remove a carb

As above CSP bellcrank linkage for the win!! And you'll need to use type 3 short manifolds unless you lose your engine cover.

Thanks for the replies. Definitely short manifolds for me. Want to keep it relatively stick looking. I'll check out those CSP kits.
I had found another which uses pulleys and throttle cable without a bar linkage. It was meant for Porsche 914 but seems like it would work just fine.

What about gene berg? Does that work for type 3? No experience just look at the cars and engines that use them. ppear to be a precise bIt of kit

Found a bit more info on the Sync Link cable pulley set-up. I'm sure it's not new to a few people on here but to me it seems pretty slick and very
simple in it's operation and not too bad looking. http://www.youtube.com/v/RVDKMCwgqEs
The Sync link apparently was designed before the Tangerine racing one but neither of them makes it easy to buy.
I looked at the CSP kits. That pivot post bell crank thing was definitely not designed for aesthetics, purely functional I guess but I might keep
looking before I settle on buying that.

Damo66 is using a cable system. I did a few back in the day, not for me but seem to work ok. Damo's certainly works well and is easy to adjust, but I
think access would be difficult on a type 3.
Short manifolds work surprisingly well. I made an easy 100 rwhp through them on a trike 2165cc

| Yeh i run a 2276 ,Mine had done a ton of work and i redrilled and bushed them, pretty good stuff i reckon, even my Dyno VW guy
reckons they are the best linkage on the market.... just my experience.

I've used CB, Redline, Scat, custom home made by myself and by far the best all round for ease of set up, pedal feel & progression and for never
having to adjust them is CSP.
It isn't pretty but it works. If I was on the market for a set up I'd be looking at the sync link. Every motorcycle I've ever owned has had a cable
setup and they never stuff up and are easy to adjust.

I tried emailing the people who supposedly sell the sync link but no reply yet. I'm partial to cable operated as well.
There doesnt seem to be much difference between the sync link and the Tangerine racing version except the Sync link looks a little better but its
just splitting hairs. The price is on the high side of what I would have expected but I guess that's the downside of low volume production.
