Overboost protection, not VW but maybe helpful

Hi

My sons R31 drift car recenlty had a silicone boost/ vacuum hose fail on his wastegate killing a motor, I suspect that its broken piston ring lands but we havent pulled it down yet.

He's using a modified stock ECU with no boost input so we were unable have overboost protection via the ECU.

He was running a eboost street which has overboost but has no affect when when it cant send a signal to the wastegate.

So I came up with the idea of using something like pressue switch to cut ignition power if overboosting occurs.

I just ordered one of these units http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220962063461?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=... which I will hock up via relay.

I thought this maybe useful to some VW drivers who are using blow through setups with carbs.
